But after all the years since that survey was intended to create a space that allows installing the theme on the importance of birds to our biodiversity, could not settle in sufficient knowledge society that they are part of the world we live in and, therefore, worthy of greater respect. At present, Argentina has 120 species of wild birds in serious danger of extinction on a total of 1,000.
is why, in order to promote a day for reflection and concrete action relating to the protection of birds, is that the organization Aves Argentinas / AOP at a meeting in the month August 1982, left set on 5 October as "National Bird Day."
