Ricardo was born in Buenos Aires on February 13, 1886, at the home of Guerrico (their grandparents). He was the son of Manuel and Dolores Güiraldes Goñi. His father was a wealthy landowner, owner of the ranch "La Porteña" in San Antonio de Areco, where Ricardo happens ... childhood and adolescence, to return from France, where he was taken to be very small.





studied Baccalaureate at the National College of Buenos Aires, but did not complete his studies in law or architecture. In 1910 he returned to Paris and began to devote himself to literature. There he published some escritos.De back to Buenos Aires, he continued his literary work, and founded the magazine Proa. He devoted himself to poetry and prose. But he noted especially for his novel criollista "Don Segundo Sombra."





died in Paris, on 8 October 1927.
